Is any gear US made anymore? Noticed a lot of my stuff is from China.

Most of the higher end Penn reels ($300+) are still made here.

Well... I think these do... G Loomis, North Fork, Falcon Rods, and St. Croix makes most Rods here, but they do have a factory in Mexico too & im not exactly sure what’s made down there. Fenwick still has a factory here, and possibly Dobyns, but they are not “made” here, simply assembled.

Which brings up, do you want made in America, or try to support an American worker? I don’t know of a major reel company made in the States but god do I love everything Daiwa!! Outstanding quality!! I am 100% for supporting the American company, unfortunately most Americans don’t want to pay for the costs that come with quality work (also companies through investors+stock are driven to make a billion % points on everything 👎)

Why are JDM products so revered and sought after? Because Japan continued the type of manufacturing quality we perfected in the 30’s-50’s but that also involves employee safety, benefits, better wages, better education, etc.

To me American + Quality = purchase. If I can't have both, I go for quality. Usually, this means I have to search for Japan or Taiwan origins. It's not politics, just roi. I generally search for American first, then Japanese products. Buying elsewhere us usually because I have no choice.

I apologize, I didn’t intend something political. It’s just something you hear a lot right now but people buy something foreign “cause it’s just a basic item” or want something for rock bottom dollar. Hell, to me, even buying online isn’t supporting “American business”. What about the local Americans right down the street? I will agree within reason tho, I know some shops that bill themselves as niche or premium and something is 3x the price.

Just curious. How about Accurate? Are they made in the USA? Edit: There's a flag and "made in USA" on the boxes but I've never actually checked inside

FYI! St. Croix rods are made in Park Fall, WI. There isn't a St. Croix, Wi, There is a St. Croix Falls, WI. and a St. Croix county. The Badgers like to confuse people. It's their way of life. Nothing you can do about it.
