Hi all, Gary is my name. Although I've fished the channel and the mouth of the Willie, I'd like to camp on Govt. Island and fish uphill and down that reach between the island and Portland.
I'm planning on Sept. 3rd. I've never fished there and need some help. I subscribe (for some time to the Guides Forcast, and in the past it has talked about the Portland Harbor, Sellwood, the area around St. Johns, the mouth of the Willie, and the channel. Lately, not a word.
It doesn't seem like ODFW has any info either.
So, I'm hoping someone can either steer me to something in print, or maybe a tv, or streaming show that has to do with our area here. From O'City to below the mouth of the Willie.
And if you have ever fished this area lately or in the past, I'd love to hear from you
I know this all depends on the fish. It's been a darn good show at Bonneville, but I find it unusual that the O City reach, the Clack and Sandy haven't been all the good, YET. I get it, later and later every year it seems but Sept and Oct. have always been good, and later.
Please help me out. Thanks All
Recent reports have been good for the Clack and Sandy. And the Columbia. I remember being around government island in the past and guys were anchor fishing and there were fish caught. But I don't have any more specifics.
Gary the Willamette is done for Chinook until next spring. The Columbia is good now for Chinook above I-5 bridge to Bonneville until Sept 14.
