Was down fishing near cathlamet this past weekend. Started slow and did not see many caught early weekend. Monday however, it seems most caught their one fish limit. Trolling was the way to go at least down there. Sat in the hog line on Sunday morning on the outbound tide fishing wobblers and did not even see one landed. Then trolled the inbound after high tide and still did not see more than one or two caught. Monday was another story. Started trolling at 6 am, forty minutes before high tide and hooked up on second pass within an hour. Was using 16 oz weight on slide swivel and then to 5 or 6 bead swivel, 24" to flasher, 36" to 3.5 green 3.5mm spinner. Was also using addicted salmon gel. My buddy went out later and hooked up three on hogline with wobblers and then two more trolling after a bit with a pro troll flasher and wicked pink hootchie and green blade... Bummer it shut down today right as it was getting good. At least all the gill netters should catch a ton...SMH..maybe they will let us recreational fishers come in to mop up whatever is left in a week or two. I did not see any coho, but heard they have started to run. Will be going back down when it picks ups up for sure..Thinking of going to Ilwaco and drop some crab traps and then catch my coho...
