Working in retail, managing stores, I worked all holidays, with all the other employees. I figured if one of us have to work we all did. We all had short shifts, but it was team work. After 40 plus years I retired last December, and today is the first Labor Day where I didn’t Labor. Instead I caught this 16 inch bass.
Hopefully everyone else has a relaxing day.

One of the best parts of not working retail anymore is having the holidays to do whatever. 👍👍 Nice bass Matt have a great weekend.

I still don’t travel on holidays. That doesn’t look relaxing at all.

Nice bass, Matt! Yeah it's a weird feeling, isn't it? I worked in the hospitality industry for years where working weekends and holidays was the way we rolled. After I left and moved into a 95MF, my first holiday off I honestly didn't know what to do with myself.

At least in that industry, the customers are generally happy because they are on vacation. But I’m sure you get that one customer that will ruin your day with an attitude. And everything is your fault.

Whew, that's for darn sure! And those were the days BEFORE Yelp and Tripadvisor where now even an isolated incident could haunt you forever!

Nice being able to do nothing on a holiday, except for what you want to do.
I spent the day on projects, so that I could hit the river Wednesday afternoon. Going after Salmon & Walleye 🐟🦈

I will second that. The best part of this retirement thing is no alarm clock.
