Good day. I love to fish, although I had been away from it for 13 years (widowed in 2015 and lost the desire). Finally decided to get back into the hobby.

When not fishing, scuba diving or Harley riding, I am traveling the country for work. I am home on the weekends either enjoying the outdoors or grilling.

Hoping to share stories and see you on the water.

Welcome to the stage Neptune. Sorry for your loss. Good you're thinking to give fishing a try.

I'm in the midwest so I know nothing about fishing there. Someone will come along and help you out.

I'm not being mean but are there any lakes left in Arizona? Water is short down there.

Ha! I’ve spent thousands over the last 30 years trying to catch a fish in AZ. I figure when I do, that fish dinner will be the equivalent of $35,000/pound. I used to fish Louisiana all the time and it wasn’t called fishing…we called it catching. There was a 45 minute period where we couldn’t count to 8 before one of us (2 of us) had a fish on the line. After a while, we were throwing back fish that would have been records in other states. Love the thought of getting back out on the water!

There are lakes and there are fish. I have caught a couple. There are quite a few Stagers in Az. I’m sure they would be quite willing to help.

Welcome to the group Neptune. Fishing is somewhat slow right now in most of the AZ lakes unless you know of a cooler water inflow. Another month or so and things will start improving. Are you a shore fisherman, boat fisherman, are you planning to fish any urban lakes, mountain lakes, or the reservoirs?

I just bought a boat, so I will be breaking it in over the next couple months. I also fly fish the Salt River, and have been known to hit up Tempe Town Lake. Actually, my best luck was a golf course lake - could always land a bass or two there, back in 2013.
