About 30 years ago the salinity was so low, large mouth bass eggs would grow. But, I don’t think large month bass reproduce anymore. Not, sure what you can catch except blue claw crabs
At the Kitty Hawk bridge with a boat you can throw lures against the concrete piles, let them drop and catch. Mess of striped bass with a fishing license.
I am very curious what the new mid Currituck bridge will create for fishing.

I did not know that Striped Bass have fishing license but that is good to know, the next time I catch one I will look for his license.
Lol , I am going to fish the little bridge while I am there I will have to keep a eye out.
It's not to long of a ride to Oregon Inlet and that used to be a really good place
I think maybe about an hour from where you are but I would cross over the bridge, you can catch a variety of great tasting fish. Unless you have a 4 wheel drive then you can have a blast catching fish in the surf.

I'm probably headed down to the inlet too . And I'm going to be staying right on the beach so as long as the day permits that's where I will be.just got into surf fishing and I am loving it.
