1950’s in Pittsburg, Kansas. My cousins with me on the far right. The fishing rods are hollow metal. Those were the “good ol’ days.”

Yep, no fish finders, no plastic worms, no jet ski's to make the ripple a wave, and no care in the world other than just go fishin.

I was a kid in the 70's but it was still simple. Fishing with our neighbors grandson in Wisconsin at my parents cottage. We were the same age.

Back home in Chicago we used to nail together boats out of scrap wood ends(my dad was always building something). We'd sail the boats down a little creek offshoot of the Des Plaines river.

Kids today don't know how to do things like that.

I remember well. Me and my buddy would get dropped off at the county park lake (12 miles from home) in the morning, and picked up in the late afternoon. No cell phones, some PBJ sandwiches, a canteen, our Zebco spincasters, some worms dug from the yard, and 20 cents between us. Nobody bothered us, no cares, we just fished all day. Good 'ol days for sure
