I received this one some time ago from Papa Jack and all so fitting because it is back to school time.

What do you think, a day on the dock is as educational as a day in class?

These days it would seem oftentimes more so…

Home schooling appears to be quite the option to consider IMO.

As much as the old school sisters were feared and their methods too stringent. I could never complain about the education I received. Those women did a first class job of teaching.

I think parental fear after misbehaving at school had a hand in education as well. Knowing a call went home or the worse was the note from the teacher was something not to look forward too.

Extra homework was one thing, but fear of being grounded was the pits.

In my case it was fear of corporal punishment both at school and at home.

The one thing missing is responsibility. When you're held accountable for your actions , your actions tend to be much more socially acceptable.

Yea that would be an OUCH. I didn't have a Dad to be the executioner, but Mom knew exactly what to take away or to say for me to see the next day.

Schools can't teach what you can learn there 👍😊

At school were those damned rubber tipped pointers or yardsticks across the knuckles. At home it was a hairbrush until it broke then it was a belt.

Butch, do you remember the days when class was held outside or at another out off school location?

Something about not be confined in those halls of learning seemed to be more educational than sitting at a desk.
