Crazy day

Had a bit of a crazy morning.. Driving down Rt 85 this morning I had an oncoming car cross into my lane and force me off the road. Crazy thing is that things started going in slow motion... I jerked the wheel hard to the right off of the road to avoid head on and watched the oncoming car pass by so close that all I could see was the rooftop out of my side window.. Had to jerk hard to the left again avoid a sign pole and was sliding broadside down the highway.. Sliding sideways down the highway watching the smoke off my tires out of my left side window was rather interesting! Why I was able to pull out of that and not barrel roll is beyond me..

After a few miles of just laughing it off, I began to think of "what if" ... lots of things pass through my noggin, but absolutely had to give thanks for guiding me!

People.... stay off your phones!! Put your makeup on at home!!

I snuck passed this one but, you never know.

Glad it turned out alright Doug. There's way too many idiots on the road these days. Be safe brother.

Just goes to show ya that things could change in the blink of an eye. Glad you're OK.πŸ˜”πŸ™

Doug, Thankfully the Angels were with you and I sure am as glad as you are too that you made it through one of the most heart stopping moments a driver will face.

Yesterday I thought an 18 wheeler's wheels in my lane coming around a 90 degree bend was bad until I read your encounter.

Drinking and driving is bad enough, but now with cannabis being legal boggles my mind why anyone would vote that into law.

Your exactly right. Gotta wonder just how many get up in the morning with a cup of coffee and a few cannabis gummies before heading out.. scary just to think about it!

Glad you made it through that safely Doug. Being on the highway anymore is a scary proposition but a necessary one.

Wow glad you made out better than we did Doug.
I went in the other lane n he followed us. No shoulders on a bridge.
Glad you're okay.
Good thing you didn't have the boat πŸ‘

I believe β€œgiving thanks” was the appropriate thing to do, Doug. It surely makes one wonder,
β€œHow did I do that?” You KNOW my opinion.
I had a similar experience when I was about 21. Going down a two-
lane highway late one night on my motorcycle, doing about 50mph, when a guy in a pickup, coming towards me, decided to pass
the car in front of him. He flashed his brights on and back off, then came straight at me! It happened so fast, all I could do was swerve off onto the narrow shoulder, then back up on the highway. The amazing part, is that the highway was about 4 inches higher than the shoulder! As you and I both know, that is next to impossible to do on a Honda 450! All I could remember seeing was the pickup flying past with the car on the other side - three across with me on the shoulder, then I was back on the highway! After about a mile, I was shaking so bad I had to stop and get off my bike. Yes, I too gave thanks to God for saving my life. I am sure I could not have done what I did on that motorcycle, with my own skills or strength. No way! πŸ™πŸ»

I was on the interstate once and was the recipient of a 'pit' maneuver. Not by a cop, but by an inattentive driver.
You haven't lived until you've gone sideways at 70!
I didn't really realize how much it affected me until I tried to sign my name on the report. Couldn't read my signature!
