Better than the Skunk Sawheeler. Remember, you taught him everything he knows. Nice looking park, thanks for the pictures.

You're a good teacher Sawheeler.

Thanks guys for suggesting I taught him a whole bunch over the years. I remind him of this with some regularity.
My problem, the competitor in me struggles to accept repeated ass whuppins.
So we're back out tonight for the sundown period.
Wish me well.
Will post any results.

I can only agree.
Actually, the best part is time spent with my son whom I am most privileged to still be in such close contact.
So, tonight we went back for the last hour or so of park opening.
Finally got a tie with my son after repeated beat downs.
0-0.
Two skunks.
That's a tie to me.
I lost one at the lipping stage and missed one pickup.
Spencer missed 3-pickups.
Our home lake can be most serene, a significant part of the fishing experience to me
Tonight's photos attached.
They didn't capture the view very well. The sky was a bright pink.

Negative OBG.
That would be our home lake (and in my opinion a LMB factory) Dixon.
They don't call it the "jewel of Escondido" for nothin'.
I've walked the north shoreline since we moved here in 2000, having caught 3-double digit bass from shore, all on the double fluke.
As I've entered into my 70s, I've lost my confidence &/or ability to navigate the mountainous trails to my hot spots and have relegated myself to pier fishing for the first time ever. So far, so good; surprising me.

Sawheeler52, he may have caught more, but who taught him in the first place? Youโ€™re still teaching him lessons too, after all, donuts were on him ๐Ÿ˜

Ya know; I don't really know what the dominant water bird is at Dixon. They are ever present, thriving amongst the tules.
I thought they were grebes; but upon a google search, couldn't match any image up.
Searching a bit more, I'm thinking maybe a common coot.
Thanks for pushing me to more fully understand.
I'll ask some folks when on the lake.

We could not see it after sundown.
The one thing that is inconsistent with it being one of the dominant species on the lake (guessing coots for now) is that the dominant lake water bird is almost never alone; always in at least pairs and often groups.
Seasonally, there are several species of duck swimming around.
Have seen both pelicans and swans occasionally.
