Back in the late 60's early 70's my mother caught a 40 pound catfish out of Clear Lake. I remember her showing me how she would push the hook line back through the eye of the hook to create a loop which she would loop around the chicken liver to hold it on the hook. This was 53 years ago. 58 now. Great catch!

Nice catch, was it catch and released
Please forgive me if I'm mistaken. But, I call BS!!!! I figure that fish to be between 28" to 32" inches long, that would shatter the IFGA World Record length of 26.5" and would probably weigh 26 to 30 lbs. Thanks for the entertainment though. lol You need to get a scale, Indeed Sir, Indeed.

FFM : It would be a fair guess that he doesn't have a length measurement device either. I know the span of my hand, and various waypoints along it & have used that for length estimates my entire adult life. I use a tape measure if need to get a precise value. If you decide this is a good idea, please be advised that at some point aging may reduce the size of your hands, so if you are a senior, it's a good practice to recheck the distances from time to time.
Gotta agree with ya, though, his fish doesn't look THAT long ! Nice fish anyway, really nice.
