I just retired and trying my hand at surf fishing got a lot of gear and alittte know how ( the hook goes on the line) watching a lot of utube video’s but I do love the beach and have family in va beach so I can stay there and drive to coast to fish any info on what not to do will be thankful

I use a double bottom rig with No, 1 hooks. And a pyramid or sputnik fishing weight. Helps keep the rigging from moving to fast. Don't know anything about Virginia Beach though.

I am in Goose Creek,SC, just north of Charleston. Haven't been yet but I hear Folly Beach is excellent surf fishing.
