Heading up to Baraga this weekend. We've never fished this far North. Wondering if anyone has some suggestions or tips. We love to fish the Menominee River and local spots around us. We are hoping to have a memorable anniversary weekend of fishing!!! Thanks in advance y'all! I'm glad I found this!!
I recommend you check with a local bait shop to get some up to date info as to what is biting, and what they are feeding on. Good luck!

Thank you!!! Yep, bait shops are usually pretty helpful!!!
The best bait shop in that area is Indian Country in L'anse on the other side of the bay. My family have camped up there for decades, usually at Prickett Dam Flowage. That's about 20 west of Baraga off of highway 38. The last time I was there, about 8 years ago, there was only primitive camping by the lake.
I've also done ok fishing Lake Superior accross the highway from Baraga State Campground, and the small access accross from the lake at end of bay. If anyone in your party likes a little sightseeing, there is the Father Baraga statue at the end of the bay as well. It's at the top of the hill, look up you'll see it.
Thank you so much!!!! I will definitely be checking that out!!! I will be sure to post any updates about fishing that area!
