This morning the tide is supposed to be dead low at around 9:00.
Since we wanted to sleep in today we’ve decided to sleep in and head out to the boat around 9:00.
The weather report calls for 70s to low 80s with a light 9MPH wind and overcast conditions.
The calm overcast cloudiness along with an incoming tide should be idea crabbing conditions. And let hope we get to cast some lines for those Rockfish feeding in that tidal movement.
Updates to follow as our day continues.

Just as a side note:
The morning has started out perfectly with a Scrapple and home grown tomato sandwich.
Mayo and Old Bay to add to the already great taste!

I never thought of adding Old Bay. That will definitely spice ( pun ) up a sandwich. Thanks rr.
Crabbing was slow and I attribute that to a cooler water temperature along from an influx of fresh water from the later night rains.
Still stuck it out and got 3/4 bushel of crabs.
Fishing was slow with perch, croaker and three Puppy drums too short to keep.
Do you Crab in the Choptank? I am thinking about giving it a try. I've been crabbing down in the Manokin and seem to be getting a lot of smalls and throwbacks.
Yes I’ve been crabbing the Choptank and tributaries.
As for trying the Choptank.
I looked at the map of your area and you are in a prime location already.
Smalls and throwbacks are part of the routine. We get plenty of them.
Are you running trot line or pots or both?
I run both, it seems they both produce the same results. There's a lot of commercial pots just outside the river in the sound, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. Last time out caught over 4 dozen with 15 barely legal crabs.
The Choptank is not that far from me , I thought I might give it a try. What's best above or below the 50 bridge?
Thanks for your response.
Any of the creeks just off the Choptank are good for smaller boats.
If in the Choptank main stream seem to be good in either.
It’s all about trial and error.
If you have a depth Finder look for the drop off into the main channel and drop your line along it.
Others may chime in with their suggestions.
Good luck
Thanks for the response. Going to give it a try next week
