Went back to the youghegeny river friday to redeem myself from swimming in it 3 weeks ago ,well after an or so i turned around and found the 3 rocks i was by suddenly went under water ,they were releasing water out of the dam and i went swimming again and lost my fly rod to the gods ,I’m done with that place ,I found out that they release water on Friday Saturday and Sunday for the whitewater rafters ,to bad I didn’t know that at the time ,well its gonna cost me 420.00$ to replace what i lost ,i learned the hard way as they say, didn’t have a single bite either

Sorry to hear about losing your rod-reel, but good you’re ok. That river should have some nice fish, I think it connects to the Monongahela River running through WV, if so, I saw some big fish pics from a guy fishing the Monongahela. Now you know when the water is released and when-where not to be during that time. If it was me, I would buy a new rod-reel, be more careful next time, and fish that river. Just saying.
No doubt my buddy’s will coheres me into going in the future ,just wont be right of way,ill go to little Juliana for my next fishing trip,
Glad you made it out safely. Costly lesson but the gear can be replaced
