Went to Ute Lake over the weekend with 2 daughters and their husbands. Fished some not much luck. Had a lot of fun bonding with the family. Got there Friday was 98% almost all day. Sat was in the 80s not too bad. Came home today after breakfast. Sons in law did all the cooking. They all treat my wife and me with a lot of care. I have 1 son and 5 daughters that God blessed me with and I have to thank him everyday.

Glad you and family had a great weekend! Sounds like a great family, and yes you are certainly blessed in that respect. Maybe next time the fish will be biting as a bonus. Never heard of Ute Lake. What area of the state is it in?

The blessing of a loving family is far greater than all the wealth of the world; you are trully a rich man, Frank!

Thanks. Getting them doesn’t seem as important as it used to. Spending time with family is what’s important.

I used to go fishing there in the 70s. Had a good spot always caught our limits. They enlarged in the 80s and I could never find another honey hole. It is pretty good sized.

My folks moved there in the mid 80’s. I found a cove that had a few bluegills in it once in awhile but never got to spend much time on the lake. I was there to care for my folks.

Son in law caught a bluegill that was about 1 lb. Biggest I have ever seen in NM

The bluegill in Abiquiu were good sized. Not a pound but lots of halve and 3/4😁
