Guess I am getting to old. ;) He didn't say anything about the old Jitterbug. Worked good as a top lure and with 3-4 split shot a foot above the lure, works under water with a slow retrieve.

I laughed when I saw jitterbug. About 20 years ago I was bass fishing with my brother in law. I was using a lite rapala lure F7. My Dad gave me an old musky jitterbug and told me to throw it right before dark. It was a big heavy lure. I had been throwing the lite lure all day so the first cast with the heavy jitterbug I didn't adjust and preceded to throw it about 10 yards into the woods and hit a big oak tree. I thought my brother in law was going to fall out of the boat laughing.

I fished a Burke soft body top water. It was cigar shaped about 3/4” in diameter by 3” long. It had a spinner on each end and a green frog color with a treble hook at each end. It would splat when it hit the water. Let it sit for about 30 seconds then start a slow jerk retrieve. I out fished my three cousins combined! This was back in the 1960s. Haven’t found anything even close in my 50 plus years of fishing!!! Wish I still had it!!!
