So sorry to say, all my pics, and all your texts went in the drink at LBI, and I mean that both figuratively and not. Hung out at a "sandbar get together" LBI inlet/Manahawking. 30 boats at least all anchored, playing music, football in the water and a LOT of beer. On the way back someone mistakenly emptied the ice from the cooler which had my cellphone in the outside pocket. I dove in and actually retrieved it and it worked last night and all day today until I got home. Put it on charger and it got to 35% without WARNING of condensation, so I left it on there. Well it won't light up anymore and just buzzes intermitantly.
Really sad if I have to lose all my vacation pics. Not to mention everyone's contact numbers. I'll go to a FIX IT place tomorrow but it's an old Samsung 9 and the one I went today had no replacement parts.

Very sorry to hear that, Kandy. I hope someone will be able to help you out and repair your phone. If not, I hope they can salvage all of your contacts, photos, and other files.
Sending good vibes.

Sorry to hear that. Try putting it in rice (covered) and try it in the morning. If you have ICloud your pics should be there.

What a bummer! Sure hope you can find them and get them back. Any chance you have a cloud?
Are your pics stored on any service app or the cloud? Don’t give up. Check with a
few different places. What carrier do you have? Check with them🙏

All depends if the Sim card is trashed Kandy. Maybe just the electronics got fried and the card could be okay.

Kandy,I know it's way too late, but when I go near the water I put my phone in a ziplock sandwich bag to keep it dry. The plus side is it still works in the bag. As mentioned earlier some info may be able to be retrieved from the cloud or your SD card. Good luck with it

If it is put in dry fresh rice and change the rice every day with charger plugged in to create heat many times you can get it to function again. IF the pictures were intentionally saved to the SIM card you can see them in a new device. If the pictures were not saved to SIM card and phone will not run may never get to see them. I think SIM card may not get destroyed in water. Rice has saved a phone that was on a table overnight in rain but it took several days and heat to dry it out enough.

Charging a wet phone is absolutely the worst thing you could do. Any water in the phone can cause short circuit ingredients to the electronics, then the phone is dead for sure. Also the sim card just hooks you up to your provider. The SD card is where you save things, and they generally are not damaged by getting wet.
The best way to dry a wet phone is take off anything you can, without damaging parts, and lay the phone, with open areas down, in the window sill with sunlight on it. The heat will help dry it, however it could take a week or longer.

Good tip on the sunlight Bc. Also just leave it in the car for a day. The heat will build up there as we all know.

Good luck Kandy I hope they can at least get all your files out of the phone. Some places are really good at that.
You should definitely get a waterproof case for your phone. I have one on mine and I keep it tethered to my shirt and it’s in my top pocket any time I’m near water so the only way the phone will go in is if I go in , again I’m wishing you the best of luck 🙏🙏
