After much discussion about over fishing I now very confidently feel there are many keepers. Trick is to have some bait not in a bag they can work on and don’t soak longer than 2.5 hours. They are there and enough for dinner. Chicken is the winner over salmon. High tides bring them in. Out going or low tide causes them to leave for another area

I went crabbing 2 days in a row last Thursday and Friday. 4 pots with chicken legs first day. I put krill powder on chicken day before. Easily limited out. Threw back at least 10 keeper males and over 20 females. Had 10 limit, 2 licenses. Second day same story but used salmon scraps. Pots in 80 feet deep produced best. South of Cornet Bay.

Yes. I have crabbed at Alki also when I scuba dove I collected them and could pick what I wanted. It still is good along that coast north. Just have a problem with the waste treatment plant being there. Much better Edmonds north

Glad you are having great luck. We have been finding way too many crabs missing both claws. Dont want to think people are just ripping them off and throwing crabs back . Its sad

Yes I noticed that two days ago. I think the other crabs in the pot most likely pinched them off. Too fresh from someone ripping them off.

Debating dropping pots on Labor Day, fishing the Duwamish for Coho for a couple hours, then grabbing the pots before heading home.
Hopefully tagged out on coho and crab.

I had poor luck opening weekend July 15 in Bellingham Bay. We set pots in exact spots as last year, and we easily limited several days. We had to throw back keepers after limiting in one pot. We plan on boating September 20 for a week and wonder if anyone is having good luck at this time? Where are the hot spots? Also, thinking about taking salmon gear. Any suggestions?? I'll check at Yeager's before heading out. Thanks for help and info.
