Welcome aboard Jim. The rules on the Gulf side sometimes differ from the rules on the East coast. So be aware of them and keep up with the red tide. Other the that enjoy yourself and we love pictures.

Just got this in an email. No red tide.
Don't let haters keep you from wetting a line. The Red Tide is very location specific.
And the county has to over react to
Keep the lemmings out of the water.
I've fished in a Red Tide closure and moving 100 yards was all it required to to not be in red tide.
Go fishing and send photos.
Lady fish chunks are a good bait for big Red fish. But it's a little slow for me.
I normally fish artificials.

Norman I'm not a hater. Don't know why you would call me that.
Posting a red tide alert is not a positive response to a fellow fisherman's request
For fishing information.
Hater was a little to strong.
I'm sorry.
If l we're to post information about Charleston that's predicting unfavorable fishing conditions with out having personal local information would you consider me to be a positive or a negative fishing influence?
I would never advise or post anything that I don't have personal local knowledge and experience with.

A little strong on the Hate word there Norm. How I read it Gordon just giving a new to the area person a heads up on the red tide. No mention not to fish it or stay away just that the red tide exist. Then not long afterwards follows up on a report. Sounds like a nice guy to me.
Personally if I was new to the area I would have appreciated the intel.
The county and the local News broadcast and Post warning signs at all Beach entry points, fishing piers, fishing jetty's and launch ramps affected by the Red Tide.
Right now the bigger problem in Sarasota county are elevated levels of no human fecal matter.
That is closing more Beaches than Red Tide.
Red Tide is a nuisance but the fecal matter bacteria can put in the hospital.
There's some local knowledge.
Personally I" would like to see your most recent fishing trip photos and a couple of paragraphs about the experience.
Than posting your fwc warnings from 488 miles away.
Jimbo email me at (personal info removed to prevent spam) I'll get you some local info and rigs that work down here. Welcome to the forum Jimbo tite lines, screamin Drags

Poor Gordan sends a report of good news, no red tide, then gets called a "hater" by Norman who proceeds to write about a Sarasota bacterial infection. Am I the only one who sees the irony here?
Comical! I love to read these blogs! Keep them coming!
