Hey Kandy. Ive only fished that area by boat so I can't help much. You can go out on the beach at Assateague to surf fish. Haven't actually fished out there, but I have seen fish in the water. Gulp, shrimp or finger mullet

Hey Kandy! I'm there next week with the fam, surfcasting on Assateague and going out on a charter one day. You still gonna be there?

While you're in Rehoboth, check out the Indian River Inlet. You could try fishing for triggers or tog right at the base of the rock wall, or cast the water on the outside of the jetties and maybe pick up a flounder or blue.

Thanks. I stayed in Chincoteague another day, went fishing off dock here on the bay from my hotel in AM after experiencing the rocket launch from NASA on Wallops Island which I can see from my deck. There was another in the afternoon but I just heard it from my hike up to Assateague Lighthouse. Pretty cool! I'll post pics when I get home on my computer. Will check out Indian River Inlet in the next couple of days. I'm just taking my time driving up the coast. Expensive, but fun!!

I was told someone caught a kingfish early AM but me and everyone else weren't getting anything all day today. I'm going back out on my hotel pier on the bay tonight. Maybe!!

Kandy, trust you have a tide chart handy? An hour after incoming is when my bite rate in the past has peaked!

Yes, unfortunately high tide has been 9:30 pm for me. Was out at end of island by marina on Wall and getting some bites but the chiggers or mosquitoes were so bad I couldn't stand it. Came back to Hotel pier , guy gave me some OFF and fished until 11:30. Nibbles but nothing strong hitting. One more chance in AM then off to Bethany Beach.

Good luck tomorrow morning and safe travels to Bethany! My pb summer flounder (or what folks in Jersey call flukes), just shy of 24 in., I caught off the public pier behind Sundial Books jigging a white gulp minnow at 7 in the AM. That pier is weird. It's either everyone is catching something left and right or you're skunked for days.🎣🎣🎣

I forgot about piers, Kandy. If you go up to Lewes the Cape Henlopen state park, there is a nice fishing pier there. Also a bait shop right at the pier.
