Hey, I have been fishing a good many times for a good many years. Sometimes I do well and sometimes not. I am always looking to improve and learn new techniques and how to use different tackle and methods.

To Garry: I know exactly what you mean about slowing down - turned 70 in March and dealing with age, excess baggage (over 50 lbs. worth), spinal arthritis and sciatica; needless to say, navigating
rough terrain and standing
on shore for hours have become beyond difficult, and carrying a folding chair or camp stool along with my fishing gear just increases the level of pain and difficulty ! As much as I love to fish and as many years as I have spent looking forward to retirement for more free time to do so, the only way I can now do so comfortably is to be sitting on a padded seat (with a backrest) in a boat or canoe ! Mick Jagger was right; what a drag it is getting old !

Can't do that on my budget and I doubt Medicare would cover it ! Getting near the end, anyway ! Life expectancy for males in my family (genetically speaking) is around 75; have already exceeded my own expectancy (from my youth) by 35 years ! Lost two younger siblings already, one male, one female, at 54 and 56 years
respectively ! Just have to grin and bear it for the duration, I guess !

Check into it you don't need to be in that kinda pain.
You might be surprised, I found out a out it from a 70 year young Lady at church.

It does not hurt to ask, it does help if it gets done.
I know that to be a fact.

Check into it. My wife has had several procedures along that line. Medicare and supplemental takes care of it. Don't give up on things before you try. Good luck.

Alphonse Normand, I have the same thing in my neck, left hand is now numb most of the time, I can still use it though. My left leg goes completely numb and falls out from under me due to a nerve pinching in my lower back. Doctors say that I am not a candidate for any procedures that might help, due to other conditions. I go fishing when I can even though I some time wind up crawling around on the ground. Just got to love it to do it. Are we having a contest yet. Seriously though do get checked out to see if they can help you Medicare will help and if you don't have it try to get AARP insurance first. Go to an agent for that

Doctor who diagnosed me
(back in N.H.) said there wasn't much that could be done except to take my Ibuprofen (800mg.) when it got too painful to bear ! Now my current doctor tells me I have to cut back on those as it's beginning to damage my liver, although I
only took them when absolutely needed ! No one's said anything about any possible procedure, so I just take things at face
value ! Even with Medicare, current financial situation precludes that possibility !
