New guy to the forum but not to fishing. Retired guy who was hot and heavy into freshwater fishing Western Bass and Redman Tournament Trail back in the 70’s and 80’s. Changed venues after guide boat nailed me from the stern leaving me with broken ribs and punctured lung.
Went all in on saltwater mid 80’s fishing from the Lower Laguna Madre up and around the Gulf Coast to the Chandeleur Islands until retirement and health maladies in 2004. Made the occasional trip to local gravel pits just to get out of house and keep my sanity.
This past Thursday night I made a return trip to saltwater at Seawolf Park Pier in Galveston. Missed the incoming tide by 24 hours due to unforeseen circumstances. Anyway, outgoing tide in channel was ripping through with southwest winds at 9 gusting to 15 mph. Tossed tails and jigs only with not so much as a bump. Live bait fisherman near me took what appeared to be a few small croaker. Not a great night for catching, but always great to be out on the water plus the bonus of cooler nighttime temps.
See you guys out there,
OG
HELLO, Old Gringo: Is this your first post? I haven't seen your handle that I can remember.
I have fished all the spots you mentioned in the past, but am now living in Round Rock. Am stove up and not able to walk unassisted.
I do miss it, so have to enjoy other's experiences. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome OG, to the Stage. Nice to have Ya.
Thanks for hitting me back Robert. Yes, I’m new to the group so doing more reading than posting for the time being. Being as close to Lake Travis as you are I’m somewhat surprised you haven’t taken advantage of the multiple facilities which offer handicapped access? I did a quick Google search and found several at the following linked site.
