There have been several posts here on fish finders in the past several months. I am one of those who have a Lowrance hook 2 and have not been really satisfied with it over the years. Lately it's been freezing up and I feel it's not very user friendly especially for a technology challenged person like me. I've been looking at a Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv combo with transducer. It has very good reviews. Just wondering if any of you stagers actually have one of these and can give your thoughts and experiences with this unit. Thanks

Sorry Seasalt, I don't have a FF at all. Hopefully someone will come along and give you the info you're lookin for. Good luck.
I’ve had a couple of those units. 100% recommend it. I promise you will be very happy.

Thanks Saw. Looks like JB144 has given me the answer I'm looking for.

Thanks JB for the recommendation. Just 1 quick question... does yours have the older gt54 transducer or the newer gt56? In reading reviews, some prefer the 54 because of clearvu, whatever that is. I understand the 56 will work at greater depths (over 500') but I don't ever see me needing that. Thanks again.
Fwiw, I use a Garmin Strike 4. Simple, can be customized to an extent, compact. Easy to see in bright light. And relatively inexpensive. I use mine in salt water. There are YouTube tutorials which were helpful.
I like their equipment but their support is great. Have set in the garage and on the lake and they will work with you as long as it takes.
Is that Lawrence, Kansas, or Lowrance, Kansas?😆
I’ve used both transducers. Very pleased with both. I’m fact, I’m not really sure I could tell the different. I don’t consider myself a “techy” like the younger generation, but pretty decent from a user perspective. Either one will do everything you need. And like most, you’ll have a handful of things you’ll use on a regular basis, and a bunch of other features you’ll probably never use. That’s me 😁
Same here. Kinda struggle with the new features of phones, computers as well as the fish finders. When on the water I want to fish and not spend time learning how to educate myself. Thanks for all your help.

You can probably find tutorials on YouTube if you search for your model number.
I have the 74sv which is the 7" screen and love it. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube which are a lot of help.
