Well George (the bus) and I met Steve at 6:30 this morning at the ramp on the Petaluma River. We were going to fish today out of his boat, what a great day. Steve was so accommodating, knowing that it can be hard to troll the river with three rods out , he made it clear to us at the start that he would just drive the boat and not put the third rod out. Wow, talk about being such an unselfish friend! As much as we tried to convince him to put his rod out he said that he would be more than happy to just drive the boat and put us on fish! WELL that he did!! He unselfishly guided us to all his favorite holes on the river, constantly telling us the proper depth and set back for our lures! unbelievable! We ended up back at the ramp about 3pm. And I don’t believe that he fished for more than ten minutes! Final count for day was 48 landed with at least 15 keepers! We ended keeping our limit of six nice fish, largest was over five pounds. So much fun on light tackle! Also saw Ben and Nook on the river and I believe that they also had a great day! Once again Steve, thanks so much especially for your unselfishness along with sharing your knowledge.YOU’RE THE BEST!!!

That's an awesome day Rich! So glad you guys had fun and were all over the fish. Capt. Steve is the Striper whisperer for sure. Thanks for sharing.
I would never question Saw but around here I troll 3 rods solo. 3 in the boat we’d have 9 lines out. I know it’s a different animal trolling walleye in the lake than stripers in a river. Just surprising! Steve you are the MAN!!!

Yeah we trolled three rods last week in my boat. Even had a triple on and landed all three. With the river having an average depth of 8 to twenty feet depending on the tide and only a hundred yards wide in a lot of spots. You can’t really vary depth on each rod other than trolling speed which affects all the rods out. You have to rely on setback. Yes it’s much easier with just two rods out. It just goes to tell you all about Steve! 👍👍👍
