I just spent three weeks in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. I stayed in the hamlet of Monterey. Nearby is Steadman Pond, publicly maintained and little used. It is teaming with Large Mouth Bass and a variety of pan fish. How do I know? During a couple of hours of fishing I lost three very nice bass and caught two dinners worth of Bluegill, etc. The pond and surrounding area are absolutely beautiful.
