Thanks for following this over to the attic just wasn’t sure if it would turn political or not so just to be safe moved it to here so the conversation can go where it goes with out anyone being censored.
So here is the thing when I asked the question “which president said they were going to Latin America but didn’t know Latin?” I was actually looking for the answer not asking a trivia question which I knew the answer. I remembered years ago hearing it on the news but couldn’t remember who it was. But thanks to the duckduckgo.com I was able to come up with the answer. It turns out it was not a president but a vice president. The then vice president Dan Quayle, much like our current vice president, was known for making many misstatements. In April 1989 several news sources including Newsday, the Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, and the Time reported that Vice president Quayle had said “I was recently on tour of Latin America and the only regret I have was that I didn’t study Latin harder in school so I could converse with those people”. Of course this resulted in a lot of jokes and poking fun at Vice president Quayle. So there you have the answer and the story……….Well not all of it as Paul Harvey use to say now for the rest of the story, which I did not know until now. Here is what happened but not reported accurately by the press at the time, according to Dan Quayle Quotes | Snopes.com
“In April 1989, Representative Claudine Schneider of Rhode Island told a gathering of Republicans that she had recently attended an event at the Belgian embassy, where Vice-President Quayle complimented her on her command of French. Then, Schneider said, the Vice-President added: "I was recently on a tour of Latin America, and the only regret I have was that I didn't study Latin harder in school so I could converse with those people." Ms. Schneider concluded by admitting that the story was merely a joke, but not all the newspapers reported it that way. Several publications, either through carelessness or a desire not to let the t***h get in the way of a good story, reported the story as true. The culprits included such venerable publications as Newsday, the Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, and Time. The fabricated misquote took hold because it sounded exactly like something Dan Quayle (or, more accurately, the Dan Quayle of public perception) would say, and no amount of correction could dislodge it from the public vocabulary.”
Now you know but also another example the press then and now are often purposefully and willfully publishing and reporting false and misleading stories that alter the public perception of reality to the detriment of our nation. Policies and actions that are based on lies never are beneficial in the long run.

I’ve been using 1440news.com.
It won’t do away with all the ills created by the MSM, but it is not too bad.

It does’t bother me if they are liberal or conservative . Just that they lost a law suite because they were caught on tape where they said that e******n was not stolen but on air they continued saying it was.
