Got a couple of kayaks for this Sunday at Whiskeytown lake. Going to try for some Kokanoe for the first time. Did my research, bought what I need for bait and rigging. I'm excited and ready. I just hope the fish saw the same websites.
Might not catch any, but I get to spend the day cruising the lake with my sweetheart, and I bet I learn some stuff. Perfect day!
Any tips fellas?
I'll let yall know how it comes out.
Haven’t been up to whisky in over 20 years.
The water is usually super clear. Use to use the old Kokanee spinner with a crawler behind and did alright. Didn’t fish there a lot mainly driving past on my way to the trinity for salmon and steel head. Caught a lot of those up there. Good luck buddy. Go get em.
Was just there yesterday. They are down at around 50ft. Was using a gold and silver flasher with a wedding ring tipped with white corn 14" behind flasher. As usual they are by the bridge. Good luck. My buddy was using a pink hoochie with corn. We both got our 5. They are running 10"-14" withan occasional 16". Good luck.
