Neal's Pharmacy (long gone) had a tube tester, as well as an old school soda fountain. I made a lot of trips up to Neal's on my bicycle.

I remember them all except for the tube tester. It's interesting though (ref. overhead projector) how with PowerPoint presentations, the digital components are still referred to as their analog format: slides are still slides and the entire packet of slides is a PowerPoint deck.

Remember all of them, the phone we had there were 6 family on one line if you pick the phone up to use it and any other person was on the phone you just laid it back down and check later to see if you could call out, we had one neighbor that all she had to do was just sit by the phone and listen in on everybody's phone call ๐ I remember when we got a push button phone and the phone man hung it on wall. I told my mom one day we'll be able to see who we're talking to you on the other end I had no idea it would come true โ๏ธ
And for the drive in speakers I remember one of our buddies drove
of with it hanging on their window he had to pay for the speaker and his window ๐
We still have a drive in theater up in Lakeland Florida ๐

Remember all of them, the phone we had there were ... (
show quote)
We have a couple drive-in theaters here that have discount prices on first run older movies.

I remember ALL of them. So like one of the best lines in a movie. Donโt worry my dad is a Television repairman.
Thrifty Drug had a tube tester and ice cream for 10 cents for first scoop 5 cents for the 2nd or 3rd. RadioShack also had the tube testers. Whenever dad asked if I wanted to go to get an ice cream cone ( considering it was usually over 100f ) you all know my answer.
Well, I will refrain from calling anyone a kid. My grandfather had his own telephone system with a wind charger to keep the storage battery up, since no one had electricity. He had about 6 families, some his children as clients. I don't know what he charged if anything.
My job was to run out and either stop the wind charger, or start it, depending on the wind's speed. This device was equipped with a propeller to face into the wind so it would run the armature? by a propeller. We didn't want it to charge too much that would cause the battery acid to overflow and ruin the floor.
My Grandfather Samples had a phone system also, but he had died before I was born.
Those early telephones were wooden boxes fastened to the wall. Calls were made by ringing short or long turns on a small crank on the side of the box. This rang on everyone's phone, but only the person's number was supposed to answer. Which was often ignored. Just Sayin...RJS

Funny how I look at each picture and a different memory pops in. Nostalgia, very good med for the heart.
