Decided to travel south with my lovely wife and take our granddaughter Alyssa fishing at San Vincente Reservoir yesterday. First break in the weather for quite a while and was in the mid 70's most of the morning. Like my grandson a few weeks ago, she asked me if we should bet on the first fish. Not looking at her, I said "Your on". at which she says "Good", as she was hooked up at the time she asked. Got me good on that one, but shared a good laugh! Fishing was slow but did manage a few small ones. At one point, I was driving from one end of the lake to a new spot and watching my fishfinder as we went. Saw this reflection off the face that looked liked lightning, then a couple of seconds later "Boom", scared the living crap out of all of us. Started raining lightly but not too bad, then "Boom" again!! Decided to head toward the ramp. Then it quit, so we started fishing that end of the lake and got into a few more. She is so much fun to fish with, and I guess I taught her well as she beat me by one. She also lost the Big fish of the day close to the boat. We saw it jump and spit the hook, was in the 3-4 lb range. Good day and some quality time, and a lot of laughs.
Da skunk buster! She got me good
Nothing big, but just having FUN!

Nice job putting her on the fish Grandpa! She looks like she's enjoying taking your money too. Thanks for the pictures my friend.

Smart cookie your granddaughter is! Always heartwarming to see the young'uns grabbing the fishing baton and really taking off with it. You've taught her well, OBG!

Thx DC, I am blessed to have two grandchildren who truly love to fish and have fun with me!!
Looks like a great time had by all. Those legs don't look like they have had a lot of sun. Definitely not as much as grandpa. I hope you are insisting on suntan lotion. That situation looks like it could turn a great day into a lot of pain. Putting lotion on is part of the standard routine when I take my grandsons out. The sun pays no mind to that cloud cover. Have fun. It is truly the best time in your life.

Thank you kindly Maxx, we do have fun together. We can both dish it out and take it pretty well. Good, clean, fishing FUN. One of the best things about the trip was when we got back home, my wife said "You are really great with those kids". Kinda made my day.
