This should be a easy one for you Brits. Not so for us Yanks.
The word is Gubbins. What does it mean here in the states?

Wow stagers I think I finally stumped you on this one.
Gubbins means, all the newest fancy gadgets. As we Americans would say, all the bells and whistles.
A friend's daughter married a man from Liverpool and I'm learning lots of British terms.
As for what the majority of Englanders think of us American, we are generally well liked, but they also think that we are loud and obnoxious. Which we are.
So stagers look forward to more British lingo.

yes they speak funny over on that side of the pond. boots, petrol, chesterfield and all. they don't even pronounce the letter "z" correctly, much less words like schedule and decals. why they should quit calling themselves English if they can't speak English correctlly correctly right?

When I was in Germany I was told we don't speak English, we speak American. Probably so.
