I live in Bakersfield, the eastern sierras is hands down my favorite spot for fly fishing. I always enjoy hearing about rivers & streams I have never fished. Any info about rivers all the way up hwy 395 from big pine to bishop. I am familiar with mammoth & areas above including the E Walker & Bridgeport area. Looking for rivers/streams closer to bishop or the 395 corridor.

the east walker is my go to
Interesting to finally hear from a flyfisher and the Eastern Sierra Nevada. I am heading up there on Tuesday from SoCal for a 3 night fishing trip.
I plan on fishing Hot Creek and the upper Owens River, both near Mammoth. Ive also heard Bishop Creek is fishable by Intake Two.
I’ll update here hopefully with photos as the week goes on.
Chris, If it's not too far north for you, the West Walker can be really good. The last couple of years were tough b/c of low flows, but this year should be a lot better. Several years ago, I caught my personal best trout (20" rainbow) on a #14 Royal Wulff in the West Walker right across the way from the USMC Mountain Warfare Training Center. You might want to call Ken's Sporting Goods in Bridgeport to see if they know how the West is fishing lately. Tight lines!
