Hello, I am a transplant to Johnson City, TN from same in S. Central NYS 6.5 yrs ago. I am really interested in information on access areas, species of fish below dams like Holston, Watagua, Boone, Ft. Patrick Henry & Wilbur Dams. I do have a Jackson Big Rig FD HD kayak, but have not been able to get out very much so far. Any specifics on these waters would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Be careful below Patrick Henry dam. There is a weir as the river runs through the Eastman property that can cause some problems navigating. There are trout below the dam, though and in the lake.

Thanks all for some good info on my topic. As both my wife(who has never fished) & I want to bank fish together, it will have to be pretty easy access for both of us. I've fished some of the best trought waters in NYS including trolling for Salmon, Browns & Lakers on the Finger Lakes & Lake Ontario. The Catskill streams were home & the Adirondack streams weren't out of reach either... Thanks again, keep'em coming!
