It was 79 degrees at 515 this morning, so I knew it was going to be a hot day. However, I didn’t know fishing was to be that tough. I believe I threw about 15 different baits-mostly plastics. It starting get really warm around 1030, considering there was no breeze. Then I remembered the summer Gil senko type bait my buddy Fredfish told me to try. I picked a single dock standing alone, halfway back in a cove. Put the bait on a 3/0 hook with a 3/16 pegged weight and skipped it way up under the dock. Low and behold, my line tightened up and I caught my only keeper of the day, about 3&1/2 lbs.

Nice catch Rich! Glad it worked for you. I've had excellent results with them in some places, but in others my old fav Watermelon /Red flake still rules. I'm really not sure why, but as long as one of them works, I'm happy. Thanks for sharing buddy.

When you catch 20 fish on offer er baits, and the only one keeper on that single bait, it’s a great bait. Thanks again for sharing.

My pleasure Rich. Butch told me about a sale at Dicks, 5 for $10. Our store was pretty cleaned out, so I looked through what was left and saw those. I grabbed the last 2 they had and 3 other colors. I tried those first, when my favorite wasn't working. Caught a half dozen fish on them and thought, there might be something to these. I still haven't tried the others
