Fishing Lake Pepin, WI. on the Mississippi River. I was told the walleye fishing has slowed considerably. Anyone have any tips as to how to hunt walleyes and saugers on Pepin in the dog days of August. I was told there is a big algae bloom on the lake as well. In June we trolled the lake and did very well catching saugers and walleyes with bottom bouncers and pulling a blade/spinner hooked with a half of a night crawler. We also used trolling with crank baits early in June and did good. Now a friend of mine said fishing is slow on the lake. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Good evening, Happy. Welcome to the Stage. It's a good place to be. Sixty years ago, I always fished out of Reed's Landing, and we fished the mouth of the Chippewa, and the wing dams South of it. They were very productive in the Spring and then they slowed during the Summer and they would pick up again in the Fall. I have no idea what works now. Good luck!
