As I write this I’m hearing thunder but no lightning yet, on a 100* day. Hope fire season holds off a little longer.
I backpacked with my daughters to a high country lake this weekend in the Crazy mountains. What a great adventure and a great time! My girls love the outdoors and love their dogs. We all had our dogs with.
There were some nice chunky 10-12” native cutthroats in the lake, and a real treat to see some of the terrestrial wildlife as well.

It’s 100 down in the valley which is 4000’. Probably mid 80s at 8-9000 elevation. Those snowfields may not ever melt. If I was there in late August or Sept I could tell for sure.

I spent the first 13 years of my life looking at the Crazies every day and never went in to them. Great pics Tim thanks for the views from home….

I have only been in them a handful of times, and this was my first serious hike in them. Incredible high country, but the trail was pretty challenging especially with a full pack. Worth it though!
