I am in medical leave at this time and I love to fish. I have a Tracker 195TXW Tournament Edition Mod V with a 150 Mercury. I mostly fish at Alan Henry which is south of Lubbock, TX. There’s really hardly options to fish around here.
My wife works quite a bit so I usually don’t have anyone to go to the lake with.

Roswell and Carlsbad have lakes close by. Might try them. I personally haven’t fished them by friends have told me they had good luck there.

Brantley Lake near Carlsbad is supposed to be pretty good. Been there a couple of times but haven’t fished it.

I follow a guy that guides on Elephant Butte and always seems to do really well catching crappie. It's out your direction. I'm from Levelland so we're practically in the same "boat".

I follow Dave's Fishing Guide Service there out of Elephant Butte but will go look up the other you named... I guess it is a little better for me since I am only an hour and a half from Allen Henry and White River, but after that it's a road trip to fish anywhere else...Do you guys ever do any fishing up in northern New Mexico? I've only been to Eagle Nest but want to go fish all the other lakes too.

I’ve only fished Ute lake once and that was a couple weeks ago with no luck. I’d like to go check out Conchas lake. I hear it’s better than Ute

We went to Ute 3 weeks ago. Son in law caught several cats, 1 carp and a blue gill that was about 1 lb. I hadn’t never seen blue gills that big before. I caught a lamb that was 10 inches. Released as they need to at least 14 to be legal.
