Debated all this week about running to the East and West Forks. Wednesday the East and was 1000+ cfs still very very high while the West ran at 283 cfs (still 3x normal for this time of year) and took the gamble that paid off as my and the nephew’s most epic day of trout including many pb’s by my nephew and myself! One bridge, landed 60 plus smallest were 3-13”, all others 16”-18” 2lb plus beyond epic! His pb broken 4 times on this day, jumping from 3lb to 6lb 3oz. I landed a few in the 4-5 lb range, almost all jumpers no less. Pick a lure, it was that good. If it slowed we’d toss a worm and back on. Oh my first day with the new Daiwa 8’UL combo from Fisherman’s Warehouse that was the ticket.

Congrats to you and your nephew, BassOmatic, on the new PBs! It sounds like a dream of a day, and a real workout for the new Ultralight. That will be a hard day to top, or even match. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve had many many days on that water and pulled 20 lb stringers for two people before many times but if I culled and went big, that stronger would have easily been a 6, 3-5’s and the rest 3-4 40 lb haul. I’m laughing when I’m typing this. A Bass Master Classic weigh in lol
