I live in Canton. My 14ft. Alumacraft boat is too small for Lake Erie and I really can't aford the charter boats. I'm wondering are there any markets south of Cleveland where I can buy catch of the day walleye fillets.
It is pure torture for me to read about all these successful trips and see the pictures of the catches. Makes me very hungry for walleye dinners. Not interested in the previously frozen offerings. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hitching a ride on this thread as a Cleveland expat. I'd be interested in this info as well--needless to say that at my current location, I'd settle for frozen, lol.

Sent a PM to J in Cleveland. He takes his little tin boat out all the time. Maybe hook up and go out with him?

Euclid Fish sells Canadian Walleye fresh. They are located in Mentor and I’m sure they would ship it to you.
Early and late in the season I usually have a lot of success close to shore in my little boat. This time of year I don’t do as well but I stay close to shore and still usually manage to find a few. The guys with bigger boats go further out and usually limit out.
There are quite a few inland lakes with good eye populations.
Mosquito Lake the eyes are usually in the weeds because waters do clear they don’t like bright light. Flicker shade are the trolling lure. You can catch them casting with harnesses, Eire Deries even drop shot type presentations along the weed line.
Nimisila Reservoir is supposed to have really good walleye fishing I’ve never fished it but my guide says trolling plugs is the best method there. Troll the 20 ft brake on the lakes west side starting at the tiny island. I’m reading up on this lake it’s got me very interested in trying my luck there!!
Send me a PM if you’d like we could hook up and try Erie. I’ve got a couple spots in close that usually hold a few all summer.
Tight lines

Thank you J in Cleveland. That is an incredibly nice offer to share an outing with me. Not sure I would be able to join you for a trip, due to my own advancing age and health, and also my need to be a care giver in the home for my lady. I have an upcoming trip to Wade Park VA and will be sure to pick up some fresh walleye at the market you mentioned.
Thanks again,

Jim, go to the Giant Eagle in Louisville. They had a bunch of different fillets there, walleye, pike, catfish etc...

Just make sure it’s Canadian or American walleye. They pass of Zander a European cousin of walleye. At a lot of places. It’s good but not walleye.

I’ll take the praise but there are many better at catching eyes than me. Not many with comparable vessels though!🤣😂🤣😂. When I get a more lake worthy craft I’ll do much better more consistently. I’ve made the right friends I usually know where they are. This time of year the numbers are out of my reach.
