Caught some nice rainbows this morning and planning in filleting one for dinner tonight. I’m going to Dunsmuir to camp for some peace n quiet and of course fishing. I usually hit Hat Creek first since I can’t check into campground till 2:00. I’m overdue for the Upper Sac since I had to wait for the river to calm down from winter rains n snow melt. Can’t wait for daylight to hit the river.
The biggest one weighed 3.5 lbs n stretched to 21.5”

Congrats!!! That is one of my favorite place for trout and I’d guess your fishing near the Post Office from the photos lol last year I fished that area all the way from way up Hat Creek to Baum and landed 126 in 2 days and brought my limit home. A perfect weekend to say the least!

Best part of that area is the quality, quantity and health of the fish. Also they’ve got Brookies in Hat and some monster Brown in Baum.
