Found this on Google maps scrolling. It's a 8 acre reserve , looks great for hiking. Anyone ever try fishing? It closes at dusk, I'm tempted to drive by on my way home tomorrow. I think it says it has bass but not sure.

I fish the northern tract of Rt 198 in early spring. Lake Allen has never been open to fishing due to being a restricted area. I go to New Marsh pond. It’s actually has a very shallow pond in front and a deeper one in the back. Last time I had to wear waders to get past the beaver dam. I’ve caught crappie, bass, bluegills and sunfish there. They’re also Blue Heron pond but it’s a 35 minute hike. And Rieve and Cattail pond where I haven’t had any luck. You can fish the Patuxent right near Cattail pond for trout. I have never gone there during the summer as it’s tough enough in the winter/spring to not to get hung up in undergrowth in the ponds. I have only run into one person fishing in all my visits there. Some hikers but usually not busy there.
Cash Lake on the southern tract is overfished.

I fished Beachwood for years but last few times, haven’t had a bite nor seen anything caught by anyone there. It’s been overfished.

How big/fast is the Patuxent there that has the trout? I've never fished that river. I actually just bought some Powerbait and trout hooks at Bass Pro today and I'm looking for a good place to find some trout. Was thinking of Lake Needwood or Elkhorn.

Is that on route 198 up past Walmart? I saw a bunch of cars lined up in front of some fenced off building area with a road going into the woods . Sign said Patuxant..something. I wonder if there's ponds back there

I understand that, I keep getting snagged on all the shoreline trees and losing lures. Yea I keep hearing the same about cash lake. Is mostly all of the patuxant good in that area for bass n trout? I've never fished and I'm not really a river fisherman. I guess I'd just and start casting and see what's up. Last time I fished a river it was in NY and I caught a smallmouth.

Btw, i googled New Marsh but didn't see any bodies of water near there on new marsh trail besides cattails. Though I see little patuxant bridge is close on the right, any good fishing there from shore?
