Hi everyone. I'm in the Colesville area , I haven't been fishing in years and me and dad are going up to one of the reservoirs this weekend to try out. Went and picked some gear up. Anyone know anything about these locations? I'll probably be shore fishing unless there's a good price on boat rentals.

Michael you may want to call ahead on both places.

Triadelphia Sediment Removal Project | WSSC Water
WebOnce complete the reservoir’s drinking water storage capacity will increase by about 4 million gallons of water. Timeline The project will start on May 18, 2023 and be completed by October 31, 2023.

I tried looking up contact numbers to the reservoirs themselves but all I found was a Brighton dam visitor center and the woman there was rude as hell and didn't know if it was open to fishing or not. Maybe I'll just hit Clopper lake instead. People tell me the fishing there is good

Michael - Tridelphia is being drained but the remaining pockets of water are still fishable. In addition to your MD DNR license, you also need a special permit to fish Tridelphia, if you don't already have one. There's also fish to be had on the outflow side of the dam. Check out recent YT videos by OneRodOneReel who hit up the reservoir a few times recently.

Sorry to hear that Michael. Unfortunately you would have to go there and get a yearly pass to fish both places I believe. I went to Triadelphia and the Gorge just once last year. Neither did anything for me catching wise so been going elsewhere and closer to home for fresh water.

Good luck at Clopper.

Had a lot of trouble at Clopper today fishing from the shore because it's clogged with weeds so decided to rent a boat , which was nice on the water. Haven't boated since I was a kid. Too bad I didn't catch anything. Too busy trying to keep the boat from movibg due to wind. I guess summertime brings a lot of weeds.

Hey michael I think you will like piney run it is county own. I believe just need your fishing licenses and there is a fee to enter. You might want to check either on line or call. I am not sure what time they open.

Also when you respond to another user if you hit Quote Reply your post and theirs comes up on the same area like this one did.

We went today. $5 dollar for a day. Do not go fishing until they start to fill that thing back up. Caught one bass roughly 2lb right near the dam by the azalea garden. It is a tough place to fish right now. We walked a mile from the Tridelphia Lake Rec Area and the water was super low to where it was very hard to find a spot to fish. A lot of the grounds near the edge was very soft mud where your shoes would go down pretty deep. About 2-3 weeks ago it would've been ideal.
