Hello fello Hookers,
I'm embracing a new hobby and looking for input and guidance on best fishing spots near Beach 14 at Lake McConaughy in Nebraska. Any comments on areas to avoid (based on underwater obstacles) and fish to target (based on experience) is appreciated. thanks.

Been a few years for me, but I can't imagine a whole lot has changed except for a lot more water this year. Follow the seagulls for wiper. Most success for walleye is along the dam after dark, but it's a zoo. Follow the direction of the other boats. No obstacals other than the far west end where the river comes in and you wouldn't have any reason to be there anyway. Watch the southeast wind - it can get treacherous quite rapidly.
Sorry RJ, I was assuming a boat is involved. I've never found any good shore fishing at McConaughy. Good luck.
Maybe on the west end where the river comes in.
