Fishing Alone?
I have been fishing with people as a social sport, but as my friends got less interested, my interested increased.
Problem is fishing alone just seems wrong. Does anybody else have this issue?
I've heard some people say fishing alone is their preference. I can enjoy the peace, but it's so much more boring.

Fishing alone, hiking alone, shooting range alone, movie theaters alone... i find solace in my alone time, and fishing being one of the most quiet and peaceful activities i do alone, its probably the one i enjoy the most.

I like fishing alone. Don't have to worry about whether or not a friend is getting bites. Don't have to worry about my wife getting bored. Can go to any spot I want. Don't have to worry about said spot getting too pressured. And yes, being able to experience nature 1 on 1 is the best part. I don't have to tell anyone to look at the blue heron a few feet away or the chipmunk curiously searching my gear. It's all for me.

It's a lot less stressful/more peaceful getting skunked when you are by yourself.

I think there are many that can relate. I don’t mind fishing alone, however I enjoy fishing with someone as long as they are at least interested in learning.

God I hate when I try to get someone into it and they wont because "they aren't catching anything".. well did you do what I told you to do? Hahah

I only fish with people who know what they’re doing at this point. I tried taking friends that don’t know much and they either bitch too much or mess up my gear and are constantly getting tangled. I fish alone mostly and don’t think twice about it

I prefer fishing alone. Yeah it’s great to share the fun with someone, but aside from that it’s more of a pain, having to accommodate everyone’s plans and wants. There’s a real peace and solace I find being out on the water alone, whether lake or river. Being able to get into my own thoughts, and at the same time push those thoughts out with the meditative experience of fishing, and just get lost in the quiet of nature. Even better if I’m remote solo camping too, and can go a day or two without seeing another human being. That, though, takes a certain mood, and a certain type of person - being completely alone in a forest at night can definitely get a bit spooky. Oh and if you do go alone, make sure someone knows your plan, route and return check-in time so they know where to look for you.

Fishing alone is the best in my opinion.
The biggest pro I found to fishing by myself is not having to worry about other peoples stuff.
I can leave when I want, fish as late as I want, etc.
Not saying fishing with other people is bad but I like being able to relax and just enjoy the alone time.
Plus some people need to stfu and fish lol!

kinda new to this post, where are you located?
I manage to do both on the weekends. My kayak neighbors and I all fish the same river. We keep in text touch where they are hitting. Therefore have the quietness of being on the river and companionship a text away if needed or ignored.
For the weekdays its all me, peace and quiet and pesky dolphins.
