Today was my first day back to Spring lake since September of 2022, the water is up at least 4ft. and a lot of debris in the water, started out at 7:30am clear sky 54 degrees, got to the spot I caught most of my big fish last year, fished there for a couple hours with no action, packed up and was going to move to the other side of the lake, on my walk over I saw a small opening in the reeds and decided to try a couple cast, that’s when I got my first bite, she came off right before I could get her close enough to grab, that’s ok finally some action! Casted back out and after a couple twitches of my craw I get a great strike set the hook and catch my first nice Bass out of Spring lake! Continue to fish catching a 5 plus pounder! As I was un hooking her a guy walking the trail behind me with his kid offered to take a photo super nice guy. It was so great to get back to Spring lake today! Looking forward to fishing there the next three months. Good luck and be safe!

Awesome catching Matt! I knew you would sniff them out, even though it's been a while. Good job and congrats on the 5+ pounder. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Fred! Very different conditions compared to last year, hopefully the water will start clearing up, last year I could see the bottom just about every where I fished, today maybe 2ft. Visibility. Enjoy the rest of your weekend buddy!!
