Went out to the lagoon this morning about 5 minutes from my house.
Total fish count 1tarpon 3 snook 2mayan chiclids back in the air-conditioning before 10 am

I assume you know that it is illegal to take tarpon out of the water.
Why take a valuable game fish out of the water for a silly photo? There are better and safer ways to get the photo if you must.

It's only illegal to remove 40" plus tarpon from the water. Which by the looks of it the tarpon is well under the 40" inch mark.
"Tarpon Handling Guidelines
Know tarpon regulations: Tarpon over 40 inches MUST remain in the water unless a tag is used. Keep tarpon, especially the gills, in as much water as is safely possible. Tarpon tags may only be used to harvest potential state record or IGFA record-sized tarpon."

I agree that the letter of the law is 40. But that is an arbitrary number. Why risk damage to a 35 inch delicate game fish for a dippy photo? Any good photographer knows the better photo is in the water.
