Been here a couple days and have been doing really well on the smallmouth and some small trout. Fished bear river yesterday and caught some small trout on spinners. No pics as I left phone in car. Went back last evening and fished where it dumps into little traverse bay. Lots of smallmouth were hungry so we fed them for a but biggest coming in around 16”. Father in law and son both battled it and it got airborne three times. Went this morning to pine river at Charlevoix and loads of little smallmouth and my son caught a goby. Tomorrow is the charter on the big water can’t wait hope to have some pics to share and also some fillets to take home. Some salmon have been caught in past week so maybe we will hookup in morning. Hear a few pics so far. My son is awful brave with that sweatshirt in this territory lol.

Yee Hah guys! Good to hear that you are having fun from shore with the fishing, and I hope that some real lunkers entreat you while out in the big lake trolling for trout and salmon! Looking forward to your next post!

Yes but their overall effect on the fishing has been minimal. One of the reasons the SM and walleye are doing so well in Lake Erie
