I really didn't want to go out this morning but headed to Discovery Bay a little bit later, in the water about 8:30 and it was already cooking. I see your current temperature is 117 here in Lake Havasu at 4:19 in the afternoon. I missed two more large mouth getting them almost up to the kayak before they said goodbye. And then on my way back to the launch ramp I hooked into this nice Smallmouth again on the cranberry Yum worm in a weedy area in 15'.
Did some surgery on him but he wasn't going to survive so I ended up bringing him home and just cleaned him. Found a two and a half inch crawdad in his throat that he had just eaten before he took the worm.
nice fish but 117 there? my goodness that is way to hot to be sitting in a boat fishing, I think I'd be in the lake swimming with the fish. but good for you and a great looking fish
Great smallmouth Langer!! 117,I see why you're completely covered up.

Nice catching Langer, but damn! That Smallie must have been cooked by the time you reached your vehicle.

Judging by the size of the fish relative to your hand, that smallie's humongous, Langer! I'm w/ DC on the temp. Hope you had enough hydration!
Never mind the fush, I shut down at 90.

I'm guessing 2 1/2 lb and a battler as all smallies are. Crazy that fish are even biting ar noon in that heat!
Some nice filets and a crawdad. I'm eating them both
