Wow has it been hot here at the R Ranch, 103 yesterday and it’s already in the 90ds at 11:20 am, got up this morning at 5:00 am and headed to lake Berryessa witch is about a 15 min drive. My sister Jenny let me use her car, Got to the lake before the sun came over the mountains. Fished till 10:30am catching 2 Bass, 1 nice large mouth and a little Smallmouth that was a fighter both fish put out up a great fight! That’s my sister Jenny in one of the photos in front of our cabin! It was just too hot to fish any longer today, might try it again tomorrow morning supposed to be a little cooler. Thanks Papa Jack! You’re not a whimp! Your smart! Yesterday soon as I lost any shade I high tailed it out of there, it wasn’t 103 like the day before but it was on its way to being another hot day, have a great 4th buddy!

Talked my sister Jenny into leaving the R Ranch today (Monday) instead of Tomorrow (Tuesday) she was actually as eager to get home as I. So I’ll probably be fishing with Ryan tomorrow at R.F.P or Sonoma. Might try to talk him into going to Spring lake for the first time the year! I’m looking forward to getting back to spring lake to see if I can have half the success I had last year! You all have a great 4 th! Good luck and be safe!!

Way to go Matt, still catching anywhere you go. Looks like a great getaway with your sister. Hard to believe your weather is hotter than ours this time of year. Was fishing with my grandson yesterday and only got up to 86, so was really nice. Keep them lines tight my friend!
