My daughter wanted to attend an out of state college to the tune of $32k a year to pursue a BSN Nursing degree. I told her there was no way I was signing for what would be $100,000k plus loans. She was not happy and ended up getting degree at community college. She later thanked me, as she now sees her friends with huge monthly student loan payments. She lived home first two years working and paid her debt in full. She’s currently traveling the country as a travel nurse w/ zero debt. As her dad i felt it was my duty to protect her from poor decisions an 18 yr old would make. Why should she have to pay others loans who made poor decisions? If the student can’t pay the loans, let it fall on the parents who co-signed and thought it was a good idea, not other hard working Americans who are paying our own way!! No one has a right to the fruits of another’s labor.

Technically Roberts stated they are not deciding if it should be done, but ruled Biden does not have the authority to force a half Trillion in debt to the taxpayer. It must go through Congress which will never happen. It’s all a s**m to get v**es IMO.

That's good enough for me. Let them try and get it through congress, as you said, it'll never happen.

I concur. This was just a ploy to get v**es. Biden and company knew that he did not have the constitutional authority to do it. Biden and company also knew it would shift the daily narrative providing the cover for other things they were doing and things they had screwed up.
Obviously a smart move on their part, but totally politically motivated and it cost the taxpayers millions of dollars. This stuff would not happen if they truly had the best interests of Americans as a core principle.

JD, I'm glad you brought this up. With the indulgence of the Stagers here, I'm gonna bust out my soapbox. For those of you who detest politics, please tune out now.
Here's who benefits from a student loan forgiveness program :
*The former students themselves ( temporary financial benefits )
*Greedy, overpaid college @ university administrators.
*The guy, ( you know who ) seeking to continue his political career and influence.
*All of the believers and hangers on of the person mentioned above, who would love to see
the continued breakdown and ultimate destruction of our cultural heritage.
*International enemies of the USA, who prefer us in a weakened economic state.
Here's who is negatively impacted :
*Taxpayers.
*The former students themselves, (long term) who expect to receive future benefits for poor decision making.
*US society at large.
I will happily respond to all REASONED disagreement with my position. Please feel free to attack my conclusions but I am under no obligation to defend myself from liberal, anti conservative h**ers.
If you feel these thoughts make me a f*****t, n**i, xenophobic relic that's your right under our system. I wouldn't replace it with any other, even were I able .......

I believe you nailed it pretty well. I also believe that our system of government is also negatively impacted because we have spent millions of dollars over this issue, thereby taking $ away from other projects/programs and increasing the taxpayer burden. Some lobbyists made money on this whole idea.
Americans are losing because politics is more important than governing.

Jer, I knew I would miss a few things, but I got up a bit cranky today & decided to start the ball rolling on a controversy. Now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I'll be signing off for a while.
Thanks for your response. It's appreciated.

I absolutely agree Maxx. The only thing I could add is how insulting it is to all the families who worked, saved, and sacrificed to provide money for tuition, or to pay off their own loans.

My pleasure sir. I’m certain that the list has the opportunity to grow even more.
Carpé Diem.
